TEST NEW OCTOSHAPE FEATURES

Octoshape is constantly improving the plug-in and adding new features. Before they are added to the main version of the Octoshape plug-in, they are released in a test version. If you want the new cutting edge features of the Octoshape plug-in, you can help us out by testing them before they're released in the regular version.

As the test plug-in contains features that have not been thoroughly tested yet, it can occasionally malfunction. The regular and test version of the Octoshape plug-in can be installed on your system alongside each other, so that you're still able to enjoy your regular Octoshape streams without any hitches.

Any discovered issues will be fixed continuously. Such fixes will be distributed via the automatic updates, downloaded when the Octoshape plug-in launches. So please run the Octoshape test plug-in from time to time.

How to become a tester

1. Get the Octoshape test plug-in for your platform:
   

   	Windows Vista / XP / Server 2003 / 2000
   	Please choose the appropriate version for your processor type MacOS X: PowerPC version /  Intel version
   	Linux x86

2. Start playing
   Go to the test version play page and start playing *
   
   
   • Use the plug-in as often and as long as possible.
   • Testers are encouraged to try the plug-in with different media players and browsers.
   • Simply by using the plug-in, you are actually contributing to the test and development of the Octoshape plug-in. However, you're more than welcome to e-mail us with detailed error reports, if you experience any problems (support@octoshape.com). Please include your license number and the date and time you experienced the problem.
     How to display your license number:
     
   * Linux users should use $ ./OctoshapeClientTEST -url:channelname to play the streams
   
3. (Optional) Enter your e-mail address:
   If you'd like to receive e-mail updates on new features or versions of the Octoshape plug-in, you can enter your e-mail address in the plug-in:
   
   Windows/Mac OS X users: Enter your e-mail address via "Enter email" in the Octoshape menu:
   
   
   
   Linux users: Set the "Email" value in your setup.cfg file
